This is my first post on this blog. I am a native French legal and financial translator, working from English into French for 20 years now. I have been toying with the idea of doing a bilingual financial glossary for some time, but never got round to actually starting it. The venture seems so daunting and time consuming I just never felt I had enough time for this.
While I gather the strength to do a thorough search and translation job warranting a publication online and/or on paper, I decided to make an entry for each word or phrase I find in my translations and that leads me to embark on an in-depth search.
For each entry, I intend to include a suggested translation, an explanation in English and/or in French and as many relevant links as possible. Please bookmark my blog and don't hesitate to come back to any entry. I see this as a work in progress and will add information to prior entries whenever I find relevant material. I shall be grateful for any comments, suggestions or corrections. I may be wrong, or my source may be wrong, or I may offer a translation that works for a given market but not another, etc.
